Purpose:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a branch. Ensures policies and procedures and federal and state laws and regulations are being adhered. Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel in the Member Specialist and Personal Service Departments. Assists the Member Solutions Department in the collection of accounts and loans. Opens accounts, processes investments and other financial services. Interviews, examines, evaluates, and processes loan applications. Solves problems and assists with complex work-related matters. Performs in all capacities of branch operation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures maintenance of the branch is performed as needed, and informs SVP of significant maintenance issues.
- Directs employee training to improve efficiency and to ensure conformance with standard procedures and practices.
- Directs activities of employees performing such functions as collecting delinquent accounts, authorizing loans, or opening savings accounts.
- Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to branch personnel to ensure efficient operation of department and/or branch.
- Interviews members to obtain information and explains available financial services such as savings and checking accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Share Certificates, and Securities. Rents and maintains proper records of safe deposit boxes. Cross-sells and promotes credit union services and products.
- Audits accounts and loans to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Conducts staff meetings of branch personnel and confers any operational problems or procedural changes or practices.
- Ensures that the SVP is kept fully informed on the conditions and operations of all areas of responsibility and of all factors influencing them.
- Evaluates job performance of subordinates to ensure quality of work and service to members.
- Performs in the capacity of a Member Specialist, Personal Service Representative, and/or Collector to ensure operating functions of departments and/or branch.
- Establishes and maintains effective employee, community and business relationships (i.e. company signups, community chamber events, etc.).
- Register, when and as required by the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act, as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), giving true and accurate information, and authorize the Registry to make the information available to the public.
- Prepares and maintains accurate time records on all subordinates.

Experience and Other Requirements
- Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills essential for managing branch operation and departments, dependability, communicating with members, clients, and staff at all times.
- Position requires thorough knowledge of consumer and real estate lending; credit granting, credit reports, loan policies and procedures, teller, cash handling, member service, collection, investment, and problem-solving techniques. Excellent judgmental, computer, written and oral communication skills required.
- These characteristics are normally acquired through completion of a high school education and additional specialized training in lending, finance, customer service, and collections. At least five to ten years of credit union and/or other financial institutions related experience and training which of the required time at least two years as in a supervisory capacity.
- Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
