Purpose:
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a branch. Ensure policies, procedures, and federal and state laws and regulations are being followed. Supervises and coordinates activities of personnel in the Member Specialist and Personal Service Departments. Assists the Member Solutions Department in the collection of accounts and loans. Opens accounts, processes investments, and provides other financial services. Interviews, examines, evaluates, and processes loan applications. Solves problems and assists with complex work-related matters. Performs in all capacities of branch operation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of a branch and supervise departments and branch personnel.
- Courteously and professionally represent the Credit Union to the members and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in processing transactions. Assist members in resolving account problems.
- Assist with directing and coordinating activities to implement the institution’s policies, procedures, and practices regarding loan granting, such as extending lines of credit, real estate loans, and consumer credit loans.
- Ensure maintenance of the branch is performed as needed and inform the VP/Branch Operations of significant maintenance issues.
- Assist with employee training to improve efficiency and ensure compliance with standard procedures and practices.
- Directs employees’ activities such as collecting delinquent accounts, authorizing loans, or opening savings accounts.
- Review work schedules and assign duties to branch personnel to ensure efficient department and/or branch operation.
- Interview members to obtain information and explain available financial services such as savings and checking accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Share Certificates, and Securities. Rent and maintain proper records of safe deposit boxes. Cross-sell and promote credit union services and products.
- Assist with conducting staff meetings of branch personnel and confer on any operational problems, procedural changes, or practices.
- Ensure that the VP/Branch Operations is kept fully informed on the conditions and operations of all areas of responsibility and all factors influencing them.
- Assist with evaluating subordinates’ job performance to ensure quality of work and service to members.
- Train and assist as a Member Specialist, Personal Service Representative, and/or Collector to ensure the branch’s operating functions are met.
- Establishes and maintains effective employee, community, and business relationships (i.e., company signups, community chamber events, etc.).

Job Specifications:
- Professional, well-developed people skills are essential for managing branch operations and departments, dependability, and constantly communicating with members, clients, and staff.
- The position requires thorough knowledge of consumer and real estate lending, credit granting, credit reports, loan policies and procedures, teller, cash handling, member service, collection, investment, and problem-solving techniques. Excellent judgment, computer, written, and oral communication skills are required. These characteristics are generally acquired through completion of a high school education and additional specialized training in lending, finance, customer service, and collections. At least five to ten years of credit union and/or other financial institution-related experience and training, which requires at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
- Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
