Job Title: Personal Service Representative II

Purpose:
Serves as the primary liaison between the members and the Credit Union. Responsible for interviewing applicants for loans, approving/denying loans, and disbursing loans. Responsible for providing account information, opening all types of credit union accounts. Provides a variety of transaction services and professionally handles the member’s daily needs. Support the Branch Manager with the daily operations of the branch. Assist the Member Solutions Department in the collection of delinquent loans.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opens all types of accounts/certificates, loans, and other products and services accurately, ensures all related forms are complete and legible with minimal errors. Obtain financial information from prospective borrowers. Completely and accurately prepare packages to present to LRC when appropriate. To accurately quote rates and terms to members depending upon scores, points, and type of loan or investment product requested.
- Represent the Credit Union to the members in a courteous and professional manner and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions. Service existing accounts by researching accounts for discrepancies and assisting members with balancing their accounts.
- Gather background information on loan applicants by interviewing loan applicants and obtaining credit bureau reports. Complete loan applications via telephone. Retrieve loan applications from voice mail system.
- Determine collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for loans. Provide value of collateral to members by using NADA. Verify member has proper insurance coverage. Verify vehicle ownership, VIN’s and prices when making vehicle loans. Inspect vehicles when required.
- Ensure that each loan is properly documented, signed, closed, disbursed, coordinated, and filed. Advise members at closing of payroll deduction changes, proof of insurance requirements and any special conditions.
- Prepare home equity loan applications, gathering all necessary documentation, make loan decision and disburse loan.
- Register, when and as required by the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act, as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), giving true and accurate information, and authorize the Registry to make the information available to the public.
- Responsible for collecting on delinquent loans.
- Promote credit union products and services based on member needs that are obtained from member interviews. Implement new loan products, policies and services in accordance with management direction.
- Respond to members’ requests, problems and complaints, and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
- Assist members with the proper completion of payroll deduction, direct deposits, ATM applications, share draft application, etc.
- Field member inquiries regarding OOPSTM (Occasional Overdraft Privilege Service).

You will need:
- Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for servicing Credit Union members and projecting a positive image as representative for the Credit Union.
- Serves as the primary liaison between the members and the Credit Union. Responsible for interviewing applicants for loans, approving/denying loans, and disbursing loans. Responsible for providing account information, opening all types of credit union accounts. Provides a variety of transaction services and professionally handles the member’s daily needs. Support the Branch Manager with the daily operations of the branch. Assist the Member Solutions Department in the collection of delinquent loans. These characteristics are normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma or equivalent plus additional coursework in lending, finance, and customer service. At least 2 years of experience in a lending department or branch office of a credit union or financial institution required. Experience in loan interviewing and lending preferred.
- Intermediate mathematical skill required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
