Germantown High School Star Student Awards

Alyssa Fillingane and Ken Richmond

Congratulations, Alyssa Fillingane and Ken Richmond, from Germantown High School for being selected as the Star Students for November and December. This award is voted on by the faculty and staff of GHS, and is based on outstanding academic achievement and strong commitment to community involvement.

Alyssa Fillingane is an extremely conscientious student with a heart of gold. She has earned distinctions for the highest average in classes, such as Health and English I, while maintaining Honor Roll status. She is involved in numerous activities on campus such as Interact Club, which is a service based organization. She also maintains a bulletin board on campus, which is filled with encouraging words for students to grab during difficult times. She is involved with her local church and helps out with VBS and other children ministries every summer.

Ken Richmond has been a crucial member of the Maverick football team. His excellence in work ethic and leadership has made him a true mentor for younger teammates to follow his example. His leadership and character have also been recognized in the past with clinching Star Student of the month in the past years.  Ken is an outstanding asset to GHS.

Members Exchange is proud to recognize these students and their accomplishments. The MECU Star Student Award honors students who exemplify strong community engagement and service into their daily lives. We award 4 students at GHS during the Fall semester with a certificate and $100 check payable to the student.
