MECU receives Advocacy Award from MSCUA

MECU wins advocacy award from MSCUA.

Biloxi, Miss. (05/19/16) – – Members Exchange Credit Union, headquartered in Ridgeland, Miss., has been recognized as one of only 17 credit unions in Mississippi that earned an Advocacy Award.

The Advocacy Award recognizes credit unions for extraordinary efforts to protect, strengthen and expand credit unions and improve the lives of members who choose credit unions as their financial services partner.  The award was presented to Members Exchange CU at the Mississippi Credit Union Association’s Annual Meeting and Convention, recently held in Biloxi, Miss.

“We are thrilled to receive the Advocacy Award from the Mississippi Credit Union Association,” said Mitzi Tate, CEO of Members Exchange, “Our staff works very hard year-round to strengthen our member’s financial well-being, while also educating members and non-members about credit unions.”

Members Exchange is a not-for-profit financial institution founded in 1954 as an alternative to traditional banking. Membership is open to persons who live, work, worship, volunteer or attend school in Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Simpson or Copiah counties in Mississippi; as well as immediate family members of current credit union members.

The Mississippi Credit Union Association is the state trade association for 81 credit unions that serve more than 600,000 member-owners.  Learn more about choosing a credit union as your financial services partner at mscua.com or asmarterchoice.org.
